What is Facebook?
Definition
Facebook is a system which is used for communication between users, share photos, videos, establishing and maintaining relationships. Currently (July 2010) has 500 million users (of which 2 million Czechs). The system is translated into sixty-five languages, including Czech and Slovak.
History
Facebook was founded in 2004, a young American student at Harvard, Mark Zuckerberg. Originally the system was restricted to Harvard. He later joined by other universities. From 11 August 2006 can connect anyone on earth who is more than 13 years.
What was the name
Server name originated from the paper called Facebooks flyers to be dealt new students at American universities. These leaflets are designed to teach students closer to each other. Stanislav Komárek article in the pages of the newspaper Economia introduced a wonderful translation of "tvářokniha"

Description of functions
The user interface is very simple and intuitive. After registering in the system the user can fill in your detailed profile. Then you can connect to a different thematic groups, and gain new friends. If someone else agrees that your friend can also see his profile. The system allows communication between users using messaging or discussion forums.
Other features like games, applications, calculation of BMI, fun tests, etc. The power is in the connectivity of each page. Each user has a profile in the wall called The Wall, for which he can write other messages. It's basically like running a bulletin board on which you and your friends can write all sorts of messages. The wall can also upload other multimedia content.
Security
Safety issues arising from the concentration of sensitive personal data and many applications that access them. It is therefore important to set the information you provide about yourself to the other which can be easily set in the user profile.
